Biography
Dr. Bartovská works at the Department of Infectious Diseases at the Military University Hospital in Prague. She serves as the lead physician for the outpatient section of the clinic. Her work focuses primarily on the care of HIV‑positive patients in the hospital’s HIV center, as well as on providing HIV pre‑exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and post‑exposure prophylaxis (PEP). The HIV center was the first to introduce PrEP into clinical practice in the Czech Republic, and she is a co‑author of the national PrEP and PEP guidelines.
She is also involved in teaching medical and dentistry students at the First Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague. In addition, she is a board member of the Czech AIDS Help Society, an NGO focused on HIV prevention (where she also works as a physician in the PrEP center), destigmatization, and psychosocial support services.
Dr. Bartovská is a member of the Expert Group for HIV/AIDS Prevention in Prague and a member of the Euroguidelines in Central and Eastern Europe Network Group (ECEE), which addresses HIV‑related challenges specific to the region. Her PhD thesis focused on the immunopathogenesis of HIV, and her other publications cover HIV case studies, PrEP, Mpox infection, COVID‑19, and Ukrainian HIV‑positive refugees.
