Approaches to Combat COVID-19 in Low- and Middle-Income Countries Workshop

Welcome

The Approaches to Combat COVID-19 in Low- and Middle-Income Countries Workshop aimed to increase knowledge and facilitate discussion on the regional challenges that low- and middle-income countries face on a daily basis combatting the COVID-19 pandemic. The program addressed the various clinical/medical aspects of people with SARS-CoV-2 ranging from prevention strategies/vaccine rollout to treatment strategies and preparedness towards new waves of the pandemic. This program was specifically aimed at promoting understanding and stimulating further discussion and research among infectious disease specialists, pulmonologists, intensivists, epidemiologists, community scientists, and other healthcare providers. This was done in the unique context of the COVID-19 pandemic in low- and middle-income countries, considering regional differences in access to medications, health system capacity, and public measures.
