Post-Workshop Site Visits

As part of the workshop experience, the Local Organizing Committee has kindly arranged a selection of exclusive post-workshop site visits for interested delegates, on the afternoon of 23 September 2026. These visits offer a unique opportunity to gain firsthand insights into local practices, facilities, and innovations, while continuing professional discussions and networking in a smaller group setting.


Registration for the site visits will open soon. As places are limited, participation will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. We encourage interested delegates to register early once registration becomes available to secure their preferred visit. Please also take the timing of the site visits into consideration when planning your travel arrangements to and from Bangkok, as the visits will take place after the conclusion of the workshop.


Following the workshop's conclusion, delegates will have the opportunity to explore some of the region's leading institutions and facilities through the following site visits:











Site Visit 1: Institute of HIV Research and Innovation (IHRI)

Time: 13:45 - 16:00

Capacity: 20 People

Distance from the Workshop Venue: 600m (9-min Walk)

Focus: Research, Implementation, Training, and Health Systems

Description:

The Institute of HIV Research and Innovation (IHRI) is a Thai non-governmental organization dedicated to advancing equitable access to HIV and sexual health services through research, innovation, and implementation. IHRI conducts community-based research focusing on HIV, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and health rights among key populations. The organization also supports key population-led health services and provides capacity building for community health providers and civil society organizations.


Site Visit 2: SEARCH Research Foundation

Time: 13:45 - 16:00

Capacity: 25 People

Distance from the Workshop Venue: 600m (9-min Walk)

Focus: Clinical Research and Innovation

Description:

SEARCH Research Foundation is an independent Thailand-based research organization specializing in HIV and infectious disease research. The organization conducts clinical trials and implementation research on HIV prevention, treatment, long-acting therapies, HIV cure strategies, vaccines, and emerging infectious diseases. Participants will gain insight into how clinical research is conducted and how scientific discoveries are translated into clinical practice and public health programmes through international research collaborations.

Site Visit 3: Public Health Center 28 Krungthonburi

Time: 13:00 -16:00

Capacity: 15 People

Distance from the Workshop Venue: 40 mins by BTS

Focus: Community-Based Clinical Services

Description:

Public Health Center 28 Krungthonburi operates under the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and receives support through national HIV programmes and Global Fund initiatives. The center provides comprehensive sexual and reproductive health services for both Thai and non-Thai populations, including HIV and STI services, gender-affirming care, and youth-friendly health services. Participants will learn about differentiated service delivery models designed to meet the needs of adolescents and young adults.

Site Visit 4: Taksin Hospital, Medical Service Department, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration

Time: 13:00 -16:00

Capacity: 20 People

Distance from the Workshop Venue: 1 Hour by BTS

Focus: Hospital-Based Adolescent and Sexual Health Services

Description:

Taksin Hospital is a major public hospital under the Medical Service Department of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA). The hospital provides comprehensive sexual health services for adolescents and young adults, including HIV prevention, testing, treatment, and reproductive health services. Participants will learn about differentiated care models that improve access and continuity of care for young people within a large urban hospital setting.

Site Visit 5: King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital

Time: 13:45 - 16:00

Capacity: 20 People

Distance from the Workshop Venue: 1.9 km (19-min walk)

Focus: Clinical Services, Research, and Academic Medicine

Description:

King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital is one of Thailand’s leading academic medical centers and a major referral hospital. The hospital provides comprehensive adolescent health, HIV, and sexual and reproductive health services while supporting clinical research, medical education, and innovation. Participants will learn about integrated models of clinical care, research, and training within a tertiary-care academic setting.

  • Transportation arrangements and meeting details will be provided to registered participants.
  • Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable attire and footwear appropriate for the visit.
