André Almeida Monteiro is a Registered Nurse with over a decade of experience in HIV care, beginning in 2012. André has postgraduate education in HIV Infection and Antiretroviral Therapy, Infectious Diseases, Tuberculosis, Tropical Pathology, and Tropical Disease Clinic.
André's areas of expertise include working in both inpatient and outpatient settings with a large immigrant community, primarily from African countries where Portuguese is an official language, as well as from South America. André addresses challenges related to access to and retention in healthcare. Additionally, André gained field experience with an NGO in Guinea-Bissau, where he provided essential nursing services, further enhancing his skills in diverse and challenging environments. André also learned Creole, which he still uses to break barriers and strengthen his work with migrants.
