Anita Bhebhe is an Epidemiologist with a background in Pharmacy, currently working at the Adult and Emergency Hospital of the University Teaching Hospitals in Lusaka, Zambia. Anita obtained both her Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree and Master of Science in Epidemiology at the University of Zambia. She has 10 years’ experience in infectious diseases with particular inclination to HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, and COVID-19. Additionally, she is an active researcher with publication on HIV Epidemiology as principal investigator while she has also participated in the implementation of newer COVID-19 therapies in low-to-middle income countries as a co-investigator, and clinical trials in HIV/TB co-infection as a trial pharmacist.
Anita is a member of the National TB Technical Working Group and the National COVID-19 Taskforce. In her work, she has provided country-wide technical support in these areas, and she has contributed to the development, dissemination and implementation of various clinical guidelines, including the Zambian COVID-19 case management guidelines. She is also a Trainer of Trainers for COVID-19, and Filovirus Disease case management.
