Aurelio Orta Reséndiz is a medical doctor trained in Mexico at Universidad del Valle de México. He obtained his master’s degree in health sciences from the National Institute Polytechnique of Mexico while working at the infectious diseases department of the National Institute of Medical Sciences and Nutrition (INCMNSZ) in Mexico City. Afterwards, he earned his doctoral degree in infectious diseases by the Institut Pasteur and the Université Paris Cité in Paris, France.
Aurelio’s previous work and research interests include HIV drug resistance, HIV-associated chronic inflammation, immune mechanisms of viral control and HIV cure. He has been speaker in international conferences and was awarded a fellowship for the Research-for-Cure Academy by the International AIDS Society in 2018.
