Barbara Testoni obtained her PhD in Genetics and Molecular Biology at the University of Milan in. Then, she moved to the University of Rome “La Sapienza” for her post-doctoral training before joining the “Viral Hepatitis” team at CRCL – INSERM U1052 in Lyon in 2011, where she is now Team Leader of the “HBV persistence & new antiviral therapies” group. Her research interests mainly include the investigation of the epigenetic mechanisms at the basis of host and viral gene regulation during HBV infection and the characterization of new serum biomarkers for intrahepatic cccDNA activity. She is an active member of the International Coalition to Eliminate HBV (ICE-HBV) and member of the Emerging Scholars Scientific and Medical Advisory Board below (eSMAB) of the Hepatitis B Foundation.
