Bayode Romeo Adegbite, MD, MSc, PhD is a medical doctor, researcher, infectious diseases and epidemiology specialist at Centre de Recherches Médicales de Lambaréné (CERMEL), Gabon and partner institution Center of Tropical Medicine and Travel Medicine, Department of Infectious Diseases, Amsterdam University Medical Center. Dr Adegbite has been a general practitioner and public health Medical officer ( with a focus on tuberculosis and HIV) for the Benin Republic Ministry of Health and the Global Fund. Dr Adegbite has devoted his career to infectious diseases clinical care, research and education since completing his Medical degree, Master's degree, and PhD in infectious diseases and epidemiology at Université de Parakou (Benin); Université de Bordeaux(France) and Amsterdam University (Netherlands) respectively. Currently, He leads the public health infectious diseases research program including implementation, observational studies and clinical trials at CERMEL. Dr. Adegbite is currently the Principal Investigator in several studies, including clinical trials for new drugs (Tuberculosis, Malaria, Loasis). His main research interest includes tuberculosis, sepsis, antimicrobial resistance and tropical diseases.
