Ben Abbott (PhD) is a Senior Editor at Communications Medicine, an open access medical journal from the Nature Portfolio publishing across clinical and translational medicine, epidemiology, and public health. Ben studied for his BSc in Biomedical Sciences, MRes in Translational Medicine and PhD in Cancer Sciences at the University of Manchester, UK. His doctoral research was focused on the mechanisms of bone metastasis in prostate cancer. Ben joined Communications Medicine as one of its launch editors in October 2020, and primarily handles manuscripts on cancer, diabetes, metabolic disease, hepatology, and public health. He previously worked as a Manuscript Editor on the BMC Series journals, also part of Springer Nature, and is based in London.
