Dr. Goorney studied at the Manchester University medical school and gained his MBChB in 1979. Dr. Goorney completed his specialist training at the Charing Cross Hospital, London and Leeds General Infirmary. Along with this, he was appointed Consultant in Sexual Health/HIV and worked at Salford Royal Foundation Trust since 1988. He came to work at Bolton NHS FT in July 2016. He is Consultant at the Salford Shine sexual health community clinic and leads on the HIV services for Salford. His interests include all aspects of outpatient HIV care , viral STI’s and genital dermatology. And has recently conducted a study of “sleep disturbance in people living with HIV”.
