Biography

Bernhard Haas Senior teaching physician in Infectious Diseases at the General Hospital Graz Süd-West, Internal Medicine and lecturer for HIV at Medical University Graz. After his Graduation from Medical School he was studying under a Fulbright Grant at the School of Public Health, University of California, Berkeley, attending a two years Master`s Program in Infectious Diseases Epidemiology.Dr. Haas has been dealing with HIV and HCV patients since 1996 and is one of the leading clinicians in Austria on HIV/AIDS management and HIV prevention. He is member of the Steering Committee of the Austrian HIV Cohort Study (AHIVCOS). Dr. Haas is also an active member of the expert commission for the development of the German-Austrian Guidelines for ART, PEP and PrEP and belongs to the board of different organizing committees of HIV workshops and the biennial German Austrian conference on AIDS. He served as the principal investigator in multiple international randomized controlled trials and under his guidance, the General Hospital Graz Süd-West has been included among the clinical centers participating in international trials on antiretrovirals and other anti-infective agents. To broaden his education Dr. Haas has recently completed a Master`s degree in Business Administration in Health Care & Hospital Management.
