Brent Appelman is a long COVID physician at the Amsterdam UMC and a post-Doc at the Center for Infection and Molecular Medicine at the Amsterdam University Medical Centres. He has been seeing patients in the post-covid clinics for over two years and has seen firsthand the problems that long COVID patients experience. In the last year he was involved with the creation of the new post-COVID expertise clinics. He is also involved in various research projects in long COVID patients focusing on post-exertional malaise, mitochondrial dysfunction, auto-immunity, IDO-2, and exercise intolerance. In 2025 various various clinical trials will start within these post-COVID expertise clinics.
