Brian is an infectious diseases and global health specialist with over-a-decade’s past and growing clinical and public health experience and interest in the disease areas of HIV, Tuberculosis and lung health, Sexually Transmitted Infections and Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR), and Sickle Cell Disease.
His clinical and global health work began with clinical training and work in post conflict northern Uganda, through work in post Ebola Virus Disease recovering Sierra Leone, to his current role with the Clinton Health Access Initiative where he serves as a Clinical Director, on the institution’s Clinical Sciences Team. His role sees him lead and/or participate in work and projects across countries in sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia focused on improving access to optimal medicines in LMICs, including the development of policies that enable their use and establishing best clinical practice for the care of individuals who need them.
Brian is also a World Society for Paediatric Infectious Diseases Fellow, and a Chatham House Africa Public Health Leaders Fellow. He is based in Kampala, Uganda.
