Chitalu Chanda

Biography

Chitalu Chanda is an Infectious Diseases Physician who holds a Master of Medicine in Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease from the University of Zambia. He recently obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Tropical Medicine(DTM&H) from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. He is currently pursing a Master of Science in Implementation Science and Research Disssemination.

He is currently serving as HIV/TB Program Advisor, under the National TB and Leprosy Program at the Ministry of Health, Zambia. Under this role he provides technical support and clinical advise to the TB program. He also  does clinical practice in infectious diseases the University Teaching Hospital, Lusaka, Zambia, which involves clinical mentorsip and patient care. He has been part of the team that has developed the COVID 19 guidelines (2020), Advanced HIV guideline (2021), TB guidelines (2022) and the Zambia HIV consolidated guidelines (2016, 2020, and 2022). He has done some publications on COVID 19, brucellosis and medical education. He currently working on HIV and TB related research which are his areas of interest in research.
