Dr. Christopher Akolo (MD, MSc, FWACP), is an infectious disease physician, currently with FHI 360 as the Senior Technical Director, HIV Division (Ag.) and Senior Technical Director with the PEPFAR/USAID-funded Meeting Target and Achieving Epidemic Control (EpiC) project currently being implemented across over 30 countries globally. He has over 20 years’ experience with implementation of HIV prevention, care, and treatment programs in resource limited settings and provision of HIV services to at-risk and priority populations. He been part of several global teams, including those that revised the current WHO STI Guidelines, WHO Key Populations Guidelines, and the current WHO guidelines on isoniazid preventive therapy. His areas of interest include programming for priority populations, antiretroviral therapy, HIV treatment failure, PrEP, TB, STI services, operations research, and stigma reduction within health facilities.
