Cindy Amaiza

Biography

Cindy Amaiza is the National Coordinator of The Organization of Young People Living with HIV in Kenya(Y+ Kenya) with extensive knowledge in advocacy, communication, developing and implementing Adolescents and Young People (AYP) programs. For over 6 years Cindy has largely been involved in successful national policy and advocacy campaigns, championing for the meaningful engagement of AYP, developing popular versions of AYP focused literacy materials.

In her tenure as the National Coordinator she has championed for the engagement of AYP in the country and National Dialogues. Since 2020 she has represented Adolescents and Young People (AYP) in the PEPFARs Country Operational Plan 2020 and has become the first and Youngest Woman in Kenya to be in the Global Fund Kenya Secretariat representing and Leading the AYP Modular Processes. She has also championed the provision of quality treatment for AYPLHIV nationally.

Cindy also holds a Bachelors of Science Degree in Microbiology and Biotechnology and is looking to further her studies by acquiring a Masters in Public Health (Epidemiology and Biostatistics).
