Concilia Tarisai Bere, is a Clinical Psychologist with 14 years’ work experience in mental health in Zimbabwe. She is a Ph.D. in Psychiatry and Mental Health candidate at the University Cape Town and holds an MSc in Global Mental Health degree from the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology, and Neuroscience at King's College London and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicines.
Tarisai has spearheaded the adaptation of several psychological treatments for use in Zimbabwe. She was instrumental in the adaptation and training of the Friendship Bench Zimbabwe. She serves as a lecturer at the University of Zimbabwe in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Mental health department.
She is a Co-Investigator on the Impact 2016 study which is testing the effectiveness of a group trauma informed- cognitive behavioural therapy treatment for adolescents living with HIV in Zimbabwe.
