Courtney Bonner, PhD

Biography

Dr Courtney Bonner is a research Clinical Psychologist in RTI’s Substance Use, Gender, and Applied Research Program. She has more than a decade of experience using community-based participatory research to address the intersection of mental health, substance use, and HIV among vulnerable populations, with an emphasis on women.

Dr. Bonner’s research is funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and seeks to understand and address barriers to accessing prevention and treatment services. Courtney received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Florida A&M University, earned her PhD from the University of Memphis, and completed her postdoctoral research in HIV prevention at Yale University.
