Dr. Cristina Barroso Hofer is an Infectious Diseases Specialist with Master's degree in Infectious Diseases from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, and a PhD in Epidemiology of Infectious Diseases from the University of Pittsburgh. She is currently a Professor of Infectious Diseases at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Dr. Hofer's main area of research is paediatric and congenital infections, with an emphasis on maternal and child infectology, healthcare-associated infections in pediatrics, congenital infections and epidemiology. She is a member of pediatrics and maternal infection committee of Brazilian Infectious Diseases Society, member of engagement and congenital infections from PENTA network, and therapeutics Committee from IMPAACT network.
