Daphne Bussink-Voorend, MD

Biography

Daphne obtained her medical degree from the university of Amsterdam (2012) and completed a training program in global health and tropical medicine (2015). She then worked and lived in Sierra Leone and Zambia, where she focused on sustainable care for pregnant women and young children. In 2020 she returned to the Netherlands and completed a master’s degree in International Health at the Royal Tropical Institute (KIT) in Amsterdam.

From 2020, she is conducting her PhD research on vaccine hesitancy at the department of Primary and Community care at the Radboud University Medical Centre. In her PhD research, she focuses on hesitancy about routine childhood vaccinations and vaccine decision-making, with parents at the center. In addition to research, she specializes in her clinical work in infectious disease control and public health.
