Dario Cattaneo, PharmD, PhD

Biography

Dr. Dario Cattaneo has a Pharmacy degree and post-degree specialization in Pharmacology, both awarded by the University of Milan, Italy. His PhD degree in Biomedical Sciences was awarded by the Open University of London, UK. Since 2008, he has worked as an Assistant Professor of pharmacology at the University of Milan.

Previously, Dr. Dario Cattaneo was the Head of Pharmacology and Pharmacogenetics, Mario Negri Institute for Pharmacological Research, Bergamo, Italy. From 2008 to 2022 he was in charge of the Laboratory of Pharmacokinetics of the Unit of Clinical Pharmacology, Luigi Sacco University Hospital, Milano, Italy.

He is a consultant pharmacologist in the Department of Infectious Diseases, Luigi Sacco University Hospital. Since October 2021, he is the President of the International Association of Therapeutic Drug Monitoring and Clinical Toxicology.

His areas of interest are pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, pharmacogenetics, and therapeutic drug monitoring of immunosuppressants, antiviral, antifungal agents, antibiotics, antipsychotics, and hypolipidemic drugs. He is also interested in the development of chromatographic methods for the quantification of drugs in different biological matrices and study of potential drug-drug interactions in real-life settings.

Dr. Cattaneo is the author of nearly 280 scientific articles published in peer-reviewed journals (H-index 44), seven book chapters, and over 100 abstracts presented in different international congresses. He has been an invited speaker in nearly 350 meetings organized by national and international societies.
