David Masopust, PhD

Biography

David Masopust, Ph.D. is a McKnight Distinguished University Professor at the University of Minnesota Medical School. His research program, funded by the National Institutes of Health and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, focuses on immunological memory and mucosal immunology. He is currently investigating questions related to resident T cell memory ontogeny, maintenance, functional properties, immunosurveillance, and role in protective immunity. A goal of this work is to contribute to the development of better vaccination strategies against mucosal pathogens, including HIV. He has served on scientific advisory boards for several NIH and industry programs related to development of vaccines and immunotherapies, and is currently the program chair for the American Association of Immunologists and a member of the Board of Reviewing Editors for Science.
