David Eyre is an Associate Professor at the University of Oxford’s Big Data Institute and an Honorary Consultant in Infectious Diseases and Microbiology at Oxford University Hospitals. He received his medical degree and DPhil from the University of Oxford. Dr Eyre’s research interests include the use of electronic healthcare data and pathogen sequencing to study the transmission, epidemiology and management of infection. He has also contributed to developing serological testing for SARS-CoV-2 in Oxford, which is being used to support national Covid-19 survey’s in the United Kingdom, as well as a large scale study of SARS-CoV-2 infection in healthcare workers.
