Dr. Dita Broz serves as an Epidemiologist and Activity Lead for Methods in CDC’s Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention where she provides scientific oversight for the implementation of the National HIV Behavioral Surveillance system and supports HIV outbreak response efforts. Her primary area of expertise is prevention of HIV infection among people who inject drugs. Dr. Broz joined CDC in 2009 as an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer in the Division of Global HIV/AIDS. Dr. Broz graduated from Northwestern University and the University of Illinois at Chicago, School of Public Health where her research focused on transitions from non-injecting heroin use to drug injection and the risk of HIV and hepatitis B and C transmission.
