Doreen Moraa Moracha,Is a HIV Cure advocate implementing a HIV cure literacy project supported by IAS & AVAC.She isĀ an exceptional ONE champion from East Africa and one of the Education Plus young women leadership hub members and has recently been recognized as one of Africa's 100 most impactful changemakers. Doreen is a young woman living with HIV from Kenya who is also partĀ of the Global HIV Collaboration members and a young Leader at the International AIDS Society 2021 where she and other young people helped co-create The Youth Hub, a digital HIV advocacy platform for young people.
Doreen is the founder of the I AM A BEAUTIFUL STORY, a digital initiative which aims to create hope, educate and encourage people living with HIV that there is a beautiful life even after an HIV positive diagnosis. As a social influencer, she champions against HIV/AIDS stigma using her own lived experience and has gained a large following on social media for amplifying the HIV messaging. Her advocacy work has been recognized by the International Stigma Conference, where she was awarded the Stigma Warrior award in 2020.
Doreen has also been a member of the UN-WOMEN Generation Equality Youth task Force and the first cohort of the Beyond Living Life force by GNP+ and partners. In 2019, she was highlighted by WHOAFRO as one of the Tea on HIV Campaign youth champions. Her remarkable contribution to the HIV response earned her the AYP community advocacy award in Kenya during the Maisha conference 2021, solidifying her position as a leading voice in the fight against HIV/AIDS stigma.
