Duncan Jodrell is the Professor of Cancer Therapeutics at the University of Cambridge. A Medical Oncologist, he completed his doctoral thesis at the Institute of Cancer Research, post-doctoral research at the University of Maryland (Baltimore) and completed his clinical training at the Royal Marsden Hospital (London) and Beatson Oncology Centre (Glasgow). His first faculty post was at the University of Edinburgh, where he led a laboratory group undertaking pre-clinical pharmacology studies in models of cancer and he also led clinical trials in patients. He moved to Cambridge in 2008 to develop an Early Phase clinical trials’ team and he also developed a special interest in novel therapeutic approaches for the treatment of patients with pancreatic cancer. As the Director of the Cambridge Clinical Trials Unit-Cancer Theme and the lead of the Cambridge Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre, he is ideally placed to support the development and delivery of clinical studies arising from laboratory studies in Cambridge.
