Elizabeth Barr, Ph.D., M.S.

Biography

Elizabeth Barr, Ph.D. (she/her), is a program officer at the NIH Office of Research on Women’s Health (ORWH). Dr. Barr coordinates ORWH activities related to HIV and women, leads the Office’s interprofessional education program, and supports efforts on intersectional, gender-focused health research. Her background is in community-centered research, HIV treatment advocacy, and reproductive justice.

Dr. Barr completed her Ph.D. at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and her M.S. at Towson University. Prior to joining ORWH, Dr. Barr led interdisciplinary and cross-sector projects to increase women’s engagement in clinical research and served on the faculties of Towson University and the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
