Dr. Gallican Rwibasira Nshogoza is a highly accomplished medical doctor, epidemiologist, and public health leader with more than 12 years experience in infectious disease control, epidemiological research, and health systems strengthening. He currently serves as Head of the National HIV and Viral Hepatitis Programs and Division Manager for HIV, STIs, Viral Hepatitis, and Other Viral Diseases Control at the Rwanda Biomedical Centre, the implementing arm of Rwanda Ministry of Health.
With over a decade of experience, Dr. Rwibasira has led national initiatives in HIV case-based surveillance, policy design, and program implementations. He has played a key role in enhancing National HIV response, leading research on HIV seroconversion, partner notification strategies, and epidemic control. Serving as a member of the WHO Global Validation Advisory Committee (GVAC) for the elimination of mother-to-child transmission of HIV, syphilis, and hepatitis B, His expertise extends to global health governance and policy formulation.
Dr. Gallican as a PhD candidate in Public Health and Epidemiology at the University of Basel, he has published in many peer-reviewed journals and serves as a speaker at national and international conferences. His work focuses on data-driven interventions, innovation in infectious disease surveillance, and global health collaborations to achieve epidemic control and equitable healthcare solutions.
