Dr. Geraint Davies is Reader in Infection Pharmacology and Honorary Consultant in Infectious Diseases at the University of Liverpool. He ran the TB programme at Hlabisa hospital, Kwazulu/Natal, South Africa from 1994-1998, later obtaining an MSc in Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and a PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Liverpool. In 2009, he completed a Wellcome Trust Training Fellowship based at the Mahidol-Oxford Research Unit in Bangkok and leads on therapeutics research at the Malawi-Liverpool-Wellcome clinical research programme, where he was based from 2012-2014. He is the academic co-ordinator of the PreDiCT-TB consortium and a member of the WHO Task Force for the Development of New Policies for the Treatment of TB.
Current Research Interests : Pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics and mathematical modelling of anti-tuberculosis therapy, bacteriological and other biomarkers of treatment response, novel clinical trial designs.
