Dr Giovanni Guaraldi is a Professor of Infectious Disease at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy. In 2000, he started a liver and kidney transplant program for PWHIV at the Multivisceral Transplant Center at the Policlinico of Modena.
Since 2002, he has managed a Metabolic Clinic for HIV infection. This tertiary level referral center offers a multidisciplinary team consultant service where more than 4500 people have been followed up.
Dr Guaraldi is a panel member of the EACS guidelines on prevention and management of HIV-associated comorbidities. He has published widely, with over 500 papers on various clinical aspects of infectious disease treatment and care.
