Biography

Professor Gordon McGregor is a Clinical Academic Exercise Physiologist in the UK at Coventry University and University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust, and an honorary professor at University of Warwick Clinical Trials Unit. He specialises in mechanistic clinical exercise physiology and clinical trials of complex exercise rehabilitation interventions (intervention development, feasibility, pilot, multi-centre randomised controlled trials). Current trials totalling > £12 million in external research funding include chief investigator for ReSTORe (stroke), REGAIN (long-covid), SPHERe (pulmonary hypertension), and PULSE (postural tachycardia syndrome); and co-investigator for PROPEL (acute myeloid leukaemia), CARESS-f (cardiac arrest survivors), CREED-AF (atrial fibrillation), MOTIVATE-CR+ (ischemic heart disease), RICFAST-2 (remote ischemic conditioning in stroke), and neuromuscular electrical stimulation for sarcopenia in haemodialysis.
