Grzegorz Jezierski is the coordinator of the Buddy Polska project, a peer support initiative for gay and bisexual men recently diagnosed with HIV. The project operates under Lambda Warszawa Association, the oldest LGBTQ+ organization in Poland, and focuses on sharing experiences to foster strong linkage to care and adherence to therapy.
He is an active member of the European AIDS Treatment Group, where he serves on the Combination Prevention Committee and the European Community Advisory Board. Previously, he contributed to the Partners in Science Committee. Additionally, he is a certified HIV/AIDS counselor, accredited by the Polish Ministry of Health, and provides support at two voluntary testing and counseling centers in Warsaw, run by the Foundation for Social Education.
In 2024, he was one of the faces of the "Living with HIV" social campaign by the Foundation for Social Education. The nationwide campaign, featuring people living with HIV, aimed to raise awareness about living with HIV, put a "face" to the condition, and reduce the stigma and fear surrounding HIV that persist in society.
In 2023, Grzegorz was honored with the Red Ribbon Award from the Polish Ministry of Health for his efforts to improve the quality of life for people living with HIV in Poland.
He holds a PhD in neuroscience and has been living with HIV since 2018, bringing both professional expertise and personal experience to his advocacy work.
