Hao Liang, M.D., Ph.D.

Biography

Dr. Hao Liang is a professor and the Dean of Life Sciences Institute, Guangxi Medical University. He is also the Director of Joint Laboratory for Emerging Infectious Diseases in China (Guangxi) - ASEAN, the Director of Guangxi Key Laboratory of AIDS Prevention and Treatment, the Director of BSL-3 laboratory, and the Director of Guangxi Biobank, Guangxi Medical University.

Dr. Liang working closely with HIV/AIDS populations in Guangxi, China. He is also investigating the epidemiological and preventive approaches for HIV prevention, treatment etc. In the recent years, Dr. Liang has hosted 4 National Key Science and Technology Projects, 4 National Nature Science Foundation of China (NSFC) projects, and 2 U.S National Institutes of Health (NIH) project. As first/corresponding author, he has published more than 190 scientific papers. Dr. Liang is currently a member of the professional committee of HIV Virology, Chinese Association for STD and AIDS Prevention, and a member of expert committee of Biological Safety and Protective Equipment Branch, Chinese Preventive Medicine Association. He has received a number of honors for his excellent work, including Expert who enjoys the State Council Special Allowance, National May 1 Labor Medal winner, Chinese Excellent Epidemiological Researcher in 2014, Outstanding Expert of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in 2017, etc.
