Dr. Hermes Gichane is a public health physician working as the Program Manager for the Adolescents and Young People’s HIV Prevention Program and a technical advisor to the HIV prevention and Gender and Human Rights Programs in Kenya. With over a decade of experience, she has worked in leadership positions spanning sexual and reproductive health, maternal health, gender-based violence, and HIV program management. She also has extensive experience in clinical service and health service administration.
Dr. Hermes has developed program guidance materials on HIV and gender-based violence that informed the design and implementation of programs. She enhanced the quality of services for survivors, adolescents and young people through a nationwide service quality assessment, mentorship and training of health workers. She mobilized resources to support a multimillion-dollar program. She is dedicated to improving health systems for all people.
