Holly Janes, PhD

Biography

Dr. Janes is a Professor of Biostatistics at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and an Affiliate Professor of Biostatistics at the University of Washington. She has 13 years of experience designing and analyzing clinical trials of candidate HIV vaccines, with a focus on phase 2b/3 efficacy trials. She is co-PI of the Statistics and Data Management Center of the HIV Vaccine Trials Network, co-chairs the HVTN Efficacy Trials Working Group, and plays a leadership role in the newly-formed COVID-19 Prevention Network. Dr. Janes is also a recognized expert in statistical methodology for biomarker evaluation, having made important contributions to methods for study design and analysis for diagnostic/ screening biomarkers, risk prediction biomarkers, and for biomarkers for selecting treatment.
