Ifeyinwa (Ify) Udo is a public health professional with over 15 years of professional experience. She currently leads the Community HIV program at USAID/Tanzania. Before joining USAID, Ify served as the Deputy (and de facto Acting) PEPFAR Country Coordinator in Uganda, successfully managing a substantial HIV/AIDS portfolio across multiple U.S. government agencies. She played a crucial role in overseeing the strategic planning processes for the Country Operational Plan (COP) within the PEPFAR framework. Before her time in Uganda, Ify held various positions at CDC Atlanta, including her role as a senior public health analyst responsible for managing PEPFAR cooperative agreements in countries such as Uganda, South Sudan, Cote d'Ivoire, Malawi, and Rwanda.
Ify completed a post-doctoral training at Yale School of Public Health, where her research focused on the intersection of HIV and gender-based violence. She holds a doctoral degree in public health (Epidemiology) and a Master of Business Administration from Morgan State University. Additionally, she obtained a Master of Psychology from the University of Baltimore and an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from the University of Ado Ekiti, Nigeria.
