Irene Ogeta

Biography

Irene Ogeta is a powerful, intelligent and articulate young woman leader on HIV, SRHR and gender equity in Nairobi Kenya. She has been working passionately on issues of menstrual health, PrEP, cervical cancer, Women's Rights, child protection and advocating for girl child education in Kenya many other issues key to the health, rights and freedom of AGYW since 2010. She was a core member of LEARN DREAMS project lead by the Athena Initiative focused on AGYW and PrEP. She has also Worked with Malala Foundation In advocating for girl child education in Kenya and done several surveys on women rights and Gender Based Violence. She mentors AGYW on HIV, reproductive health, rights and advocacy and has been a cornerstone of the success in Kenya around #WhatGirlsWant - Kenya Project. Irene is also featured as a co-presenter on the ATHENA WhatsApp Learning Chats and has been vital to bringing thought provoking topics to the #WhatWomenWant virtual space.
