Isabella Nóbrega, MD, PhD

Biography

Dr Nóbrega graduated in Medicine from the Federal University of Campina Grande, she has a residency in Infectious Diseases, as well as a master's and doctorate degree in Medicine and Health at the Federal University of Bahia. Specialist in Health Management and Infection Control (MBA at Faculdade Método de São Paulo).

She has extensive experience in Infectious and Parasitic Diseases, with a special interest in sexually transmitted infections, viral hepatitis and HIV, particularly in the areas of human reproduction, prevention of mother-to-child transmission and other particularities in women living with HIV, and HIV resistance to antiretroviral therapy. In recent years, she has worked at the main reference centers for HIV treatment in Salvador.

She is currently an infectologist at the Municipal Health Secretariat of Salvador, performing consultancy activities at the Center for Strategic Health Surveillance Information (CIEVS). Also infectologist at the Salvador STI reference center (SEMAE) where she leads the PrEP outpatient clinic and at the Specialized Center for Diagnosis, Assistance and Research (CEDAP) - the largest referral service for STI / HIV / viral hepatitis in the state of Bahia, where she is the infectologist responsible for the outpatient clinic of pregnant women. Reference physician in HIV genotyping of the Ministry of Health and authorizing restricted use antiretrovirals in Bahia.
