Dr. Ivan Antúnez attended University of Puerto Rico and received his medical degree from Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine. He completed his postgraduate training in Internal Medicine at the San Juan VA Medical Center and Gastroenterology at the UPR School of Medicine. Dr. Antúnez has been a faculty member at the GI program of UPR School of Medicine for the past fourteen years. He is a faculty member at the Auxilio Mutuo Liver Transplant Center. He was one of the initial physicians of this program, which was started 5 years ago. It is the first and only transplant center of Puerto Rico. Dr. Antúnez is the president of the Puerto Rico Gastroenterology Association. He has been in the board of directors for twelve years and has occupied several leadership positions. He has been involved in the organization of multiple medical scientific meetings. He has also presented several lectures in different GI and Hepatology topics.
