The research is different aspects of HIV evolution and variability and its biological consequences using conventional and next-generation sequencing. This includes how HIV evades cellular and humoral immunity. We use sophisticated molecular epidemiology and phylogenetics to track the spread of HIV in Sweden and abroad. We also study the emergence and spread of HIV variants that are resistant to antiretroviral drugs.
