Jens D. Lundgren is Professor of infectious diseases and a practicing infectious disease specialist. He is the Director of CHIP (Centre of Excellence for Health, Immunity and Infections).
He heads PERSIMUNE. In 2015, the study was awarded a 10-year Danish National Research Foundation Centre of Excellence grant. He is member of the Executive Committee of the NIH/NIAID funded INSIGHT network, he chairs its scientific steering committee and is Co-PI for the START study (CHIP). He is Chair of the Steering Committee for the D:A:D study (CHIP). He is founder and current member of the steering committee for the EuroSIDA study (CHIP). He is founder and current member of the steering committee of the HIV in Europe Initiative focused on early testing and care for HIV+ persons across Europe. He is founder of the EACS non-infectious co-morbidity guidelines panel and was awarded the EACS Award for Excellence in HIV Medicine in 2015. He is member of American Society of Clinical Investigation and Association of American Physicians, and honorary life-long member of IAPAC. He is the co-editor-in-chief of the HIV Medicine journal.
Jens has an extensive list of publications in scientific literature. Primary research interests are clinical and public health aspects of the HIV infection itself, and its infectious and noninfectious associated morbidities. He mentors several younger colleagues in their research development.
