Biography

Dr Thornhill is a Clinical senior lecturer in the department of immunobiology at Queen Mary University of London.  He is an honorary consultant in HIV and sexual health at Barts Health NHS trust. He completed his PhD in 2018 investigating the impact of ART in primary HIV infection on immune dysfunction in the gut.  His current research interest includes HIV cure intervention studies, the relationship between HIV persistence in the gut and immune dysfunction and more recently monkeypox infection.
