Joop de Langen, MD, PhD

Biography

Joop de Langen is thoracic oncologist at the Netherlands Cancer Institute in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. In 2012 de Langen received his PhD from the VU University in Amsterdam. The thesis was about validation and qualification of molecular imaging tests (DCE-MRI and several PET tracers) as markers of early response during targeted therapy. De Langen completed his respiratory residency at the VU Medical Center in 2013 and is currently working as a thoracic oncologist at the Netherlands Cancer Institute (AvL-NKI) with the focus on non-small cell lung cancer.


His research focusses on two main topics:
• Analysis and treatment of primary and secondary TKI resistance in molecularly driven NSCLC
• Molecular imaging biomarkers of response during immunotherapy and targeted therapy
