Juan Ambrosioni MD, PhD. He is specialist of the HIV / AIDS Unit and Infectious Disease (ID) Service and Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Barcelona, since 2014. He is ID specialist of the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina and the University of Geneva, Switzerland. Juan Ambrosioni is author of more than 130 peer-reviewed scientific articles indexed in PubMed (more than 40 as first, last or corresponding author), and more than 30 book chapters. He is the principal investigator of national and international projects in the field of HIV-infection, co-infections and opportunistic infections. His main research fields are currently focused on antiretroviral therapy, primary HIV infection and tuberculous meningitis. During the COVID-19 pandemic he has been involved in clinical management of COVID-19 cases including those presented in people living with HIV. He is member of the ‘Opportunistic Infections and COVID-19’ panel of the European AIDS Clinical Society (EACS) Guidelines.
