Julian Adong is pediatrician and research fellow at the Mbarara University of Science and Technology, Uganda. She has over 12 years clinical experience working with adolescents and young adults with HIV at one of Uganda’s largest public and teaching hospital. Her research work is focused on developing scalable, acceptable and novel mHealth interventions to improve HIV treatment outcomes among adolescents and young adults with HIV (AYWH) in low resource settings. She has received funding from Fogarty International Center, Harvard CFAR and the Thrasher foundation to develop and implement various mHealth interventions to improve adherence and mental health of AYWH. Julian is inspired by her own and her adolescent sons’ experiences to improve the lives of other adolescents in Africa.
