Laila Woc-Colburn, MD, is an associate professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases, at Emory University School of Medicine. She is a graduate of Universidad Francisco Marroquín in Guatemala. She completed her internal medicine residency at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago and her infectious diseases and HIV medicine fellowship at Case Western University in Cleveland. She received a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene. Her clinical interests focus on tropical diseases in immunosuppressed (including HIV) persons, mycotic diseases, orthopedic infections, and medical education. Her passions are to teach the next generation of health workers about infectious diseases topic and to empower women and BIPOC in medicine.
