Dr Laura Byrne is a Consultant in HIV Medicine at St George's University Hospitals NHS Trust in London and is an honorary Senior Lecturer at City St Georges, University of London.
She is the Chair of the British HIV Association Pregnancy Guidelines Writing Group, having developed a specialist interest in the management of HIV in pregnancy during her PhD at University College London. She continues to contribute to research in this area, as well as teaching and holding several medical education leadership roles.
She works within the Infectious Diseases department at St George's Hospital, practicing both inpatient and outpatient medicine, and is also the clinical lead for the Southwest London Covid Medicines Delivery Unit, providing early treatment for people with high-risk conditions.
