Lorraine Sherr, PhD, MBE

Biography

Lorraine Sherr is a professor of Clinical and Health Psychology at the Institute of Global Health at University College, London, UK.

She has been a founder member of the AIDSImpact board, helping the team steer the knowledge transfer with a particular focus on the psychosocial aspects of HIV. She is the editor of three international academic journals (AIDSCare, Psychology Health and Medicine; Vulnerable Children and Youth Studies).

She has a wide portfolio of academic publications and researches both nationally and internationally. She works with a wonderful team of researchers and implementers from many organisations and collaborates with policy and government bodies such as UNAIDS, UNICEF, USAID-PEPFAR, CDC, IAS, WHO, Global Fund, HelpAge, CRS.

Prof. Sherr is a member of the Coalition for Children and AIDS and has previously served on many strategic bodies such as WHO STAC, REPSSI Board, JLICA, IATT. The focus of her research is on mental health and wellbeing with a specific interest in HIV, Children, Families and vulnerable populations.
