Lubumbe Jeremiah Mulanda

Biography

Jeremiah is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Science in Development Studies. He has previous worked as a Volunteer and Youth Advisor for Plan International Zambia’s Health, Child Protection and Participation thematic areas which aims at keeping children safe from all forms of violence and Promoting sexual reproductive health especially in rural communities of Zambia. He has also previous held the position of Vice-Chair Person of the Youth Advisory Panel (YAP) in Luapula Province an Initiative of Plan International which allows young people to influence the Organizations work on the inequalities that Young people face especially girls like HIV/AIDS, Child marriage, Teenage pregnancy, Violence, Exclusion and Poverty. Jeremiah also sat on the YAP National Committee for Zambia which does more advocacies mentioned above at National Level.

 He is a Peer educator of the National Aids Council of Zambia working on a wide range of Programs like the Test Your Life Radio Program. He is involved in the design and Implementation of different programs and the Council. Jeremiah has also worked as a BBC Media Action Youth Ambassador for the Natwapane Tulande Project which aims at reducing the rate of sexual and Gender based violence in Luapula and Northern Provinces of Zambia. He is Currently working with Adaptive Leadership Zambia(ALZ) whose vision is for a `Positively oriented society that tackles its problems and fully actualizes its leadership Potential`. He holds the position of Sub-District Manager for Kanyama. The project Focuses on reducing New HIV Infections’ among adolescents. He is also a trained Apative Leadership Facilitator, this allows him to interact and learn from different young people in and outside the Program.

His Vision is to see a world were Young people feel safe, valued, Respected and are not only considered beneficiaries in matter’s affecting them but as equal players and this can only be archived if young people meaningfully participate in matters affecting them.
