Marc van der Valk MD, PhD works as an internist-infectiologist at the department of Infectious Diseases of the Academic Medical Center in Amsterdam. He has extensive clinical and research experience in HIV-care and is currently Chairman of the Dutch Association of HIV treating physicians. His research focus is on Aging related complications in people livinh with hiv and on hepatitis B and C (co)-infections. He is a member of the Dutch HIV treatment guideline committee and the Dutch HCV treatment guideline. Furthermore, he is responsible for the clinical care of a large cohort of HBV or HCV mono-infected patients on his outpatient clinic.
